Just how does one measure great hospitality? Is it measured by the luxury of its amenities and the grandeur of its grounds and views? Or perhaps the variety of things and experiences to do? Or how about the decadence of its food and dining outlets? Well, I think it’s really a combination of them all. But more than that, it’s also the overall warmth and sincerity of their service. It’s the little gestures that really matter most – the warm smiles that welcome you as soon as you arrive, the soft “hellos or good mornings” exchanged along the corridors, and even the short but sweet notes in a turndown service. All of these we have experienced first hand during our stay at Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali. And here are five reasons why you too should go on a luxury getaway at this 5-star resort in Bali Island, Indonesia:
Beautiful Resort with Luxurious Amenities and Lush Landscapes
Tropical Paradise. Nestled in a lush landscape along the crystal-clear blue waters of the Bali Sea, Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali boasts of luxurious amenities worthy of a second or even third visit. Let me tell you about my favorite spots in this 5-star resort in Bali.
Right as we arrived at their lobby, we were welcomed with a sprawling reception area inspired by local Indonesian/Balinese architecture. As we were ushered into our pool-access room, lush gardens lined up on both sides of the pathway. Complete with relaxing tropical sounds as if mimicking birds chirping about in the rainforest.
I’ll talk about our amazing room more later on but what laid right outside really blew us away. A beautiful pool nestled at the center of the lush garden, surrounded by guest rooms, the spa, and the gym. It was stunning during the day and was very romantic at night. Best part was that we came during the lean season so there were not many guests. In fact, most of the time we were out, we had the garden pool all to ourselves. There’s also a beach pool fronting the villas built for those who like to see the best of both worlds. It was also stunning (and luxurious), especially during sunset, but I just personally found the garden pool more charming and inviting.
Right next to the beach pool is my other favorite spot at the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali, the Jivva Beach Club. During the day, it’s where breakfast is served. In the afternoon, take a quiet respite at the cozy garden beanbag area while marveling at the stunning Bali sunset. And during the night, go on a gastronomic feast with their local and international fares. Afterwards, sip signature cocktails, snack on tasty nibbles and lounge in the sand pool whilst listening to the cool tunes from Jivva’s resident DJ.
Tranquil and Secluded Location
Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali is located along the dazzling Klungkung coastline. While a 40-minute drive away from the famous Ubud and Seminyak areas, guests at the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort are assured of a delightful stay because of the spectacular views of the Bali Sea. As well as the feel of exclusivity in the resort’s lush landscapes.
We stayed at the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort for 4 days/3 nights. And it was equally met with a lot of good sightseeing. All thanks to the partner transport service provider of the resort. In fact, the Klungklung area itself boasts of nearby local attractions for visitors to appreciate. Including the Bali Hai Cruises (15-minute drive) as well as the Bali Safari & Marine Park and Aquamarine Diving Center (20-minute drive).
We, on the other hand, opted to visit other heritage spots around the island over a span of two (2) days. Namely Batuan Temple (30 Minutes East), Tegunungan Temple (30 minutes East), Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary (40 minutes Northeast), Tegallalang Rice Terraces (50 minutes Northeast), Laksmi Bali Coffee Luak (1 Hour Northeast), and the Lempuyang Temple (1 Hour 30 Minutes West). A typical car rental should cost you around 600,000 IDR (Php 2,200 or USD 42) for a 6-8 hour trip per day. And while tips are not mandatory in Bali, they are deeply appreciated.
Value-for-Money Food Selection
It’s no secret that we love good food. Luckily, the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort features two dining outlets with an extensive gastronomic assortments. Namely Bambu Restauraunt (located near the resort lobby) and the Jivva Beach Club (fronting the beach area). Bambu Restaurant serves locally inspired dishes while the Jivva Beach Club boasts of international casual dishes accompanied by flavourful cocktails and stunning scenic backdrops.
My friend Steph and I dined in Bambu Restaurant twice during our stay and were pretty much satisfied with the food served. Everything was delicious, generous in their serving size, and was good value-for-money. Our lunch favorites include the Indonesian Sate or Meat Skewers (IDR 110,000 or USD 7.84) and the Mie Goreng or Wok Fried Noodles (IDR 100,000 or USD 7.13). We also had the Es Campur “Pak Oyen” (IDR 50,000 or USD 3.56) for dessert. It’s basically a West Java style mixed fruit dessert with avocado, young coconut, ripe jackfruit, sago pearls, and fermented cassava root. Then topped with crushed ice and condensed milk. We also dined at Bambu Restaurant for dinner and I particularly loved the Sate Lilit Kusamba. It was tasty and came with soup, a spicy vegetable side, and rice.
On the other hand, we had our daily breakfast at the Jivva Beach Club in Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort. It was not your typical breakfast buffet with rows of hot plates displayed. Instead, breads and salads are displayed but mains are cooked fresh a la carte style – but without limits. So we ordered the whole menu (must have been around 10 entrees) between the two of us. Must picks are the Nasi Goreng, Eggs Benedict, and Rice Porridge! Looking to catch the best sunset of the Bali Sea? Hang out at the Jivva Beach Club for some cocktail drinks and dinner.
Private, well-designed, and locally-inspired rooms at Wyndham Tamansari
We originally booked for a deluxe room at the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort. But luckily got upgraded to a Deluxe Twin with Pool Access. The room itself was stunning as it is – a blend of modern architecture and Balinese art. Wyndham Tamansari’s rooms are made with state of the art facilities that will complement your every move.
I particularly loved the firm but comfortable bed and the large bathtub with an outside view. And the best part? We simply had to open our glass sliding doors and step out to the sprawling garden pool outside. Towels are provided on the lounge chairs and drinks can be ordered while you soak up some sun. Room amenities include a daily supply of mineral water, an in-room safe, a 40-inch LED Flat Screen TV, and high-speed WiFi.
Now for those looking for a bit more comfort and luxury, the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort also offers other room categories for your pleasure. Namely the Resort Rooms, Jacuzzi-Pool Suites, and Private Room Villas.
Top-notch Service and Hospitality
While we thoroughly enjoyed all the posh amenities and facilities of Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali, what made our stay even more incredible was the top-notch service and warm hospitality. From the reception, bell, to dining, expect nothing less than 5-star service. Everyone was just friendly and pleasant, with our days met with warm smiles and our needs attended to very well. Especially our wait staff in Bambu Restaurant who was very sweet and thoughtful, treating us as if we were home and were family.
Overall, Steph and I had an excellent stay at Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Bali Resort. A luxurious and well-thought-of resort paired with a warm touch of hospitality. Looking forward to my next visit!
